In your opening letter/opinion, on the subject Trump promised to be LGBTQ-friendly. His first year in office proved it was a giant con. of gay marriage in the LGBT community on this controversial issue, you said a number of things I disagree with. My position is that granting the legal rights under the law should extend to gays and lesbians to ensure that all citizens enjoy human rights. You said “you was a different kind of Republican and you will be a good friends to the LGBT people. (Trump par.3) I think you are wrong because you made it seem like when you got into the chair you was going to make a change and make the LGBT people feel comfortable in their skin. Also David Nakamwa talks about how Obama hailed a ruling to protect the rights of same sex couples to marry to show that “you are wrong” in this controversial issue. You said that “transgender people will not be allowed to serve in the military” after you got elected but before you was all for protecting their rights. This means obviously, you were wrong. In a interview you said “you think the institution of marriage should be between a man and a woman.”(Trump par.5) This means obviously, you were wrong. In the future, you should make people feel just like anyone else should feel. Everyone deserves to be loved and I feel as if it comes in different shapes, forms, color, and sizes. We all bleed the same color and we all have to die one day so why not let gay marriage be legal throughout the world without any backlash. As a community/group of people/readers of this blog we should protect each other rights and be there for one another more and also stand what for what is right and don’t be afraid to speak out in order to solve this problem.
